An up-and-coming young artist, Claire Connelly has been described as a “fine soprano voice with a vivacious presence,” by the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Claire is a professional opera singer based in Cleveland, OH. Traveling all over the country, she has touched the souls of her audiences through her many heart-felt and energetic performances. She has sung for international dignitaries such as Vice-President Al Gore, President George H. W. Bush, Vicente Fox, and many others.
Claire has been repeatedly praised in the Cleveland Plain Dealer for having “dulcet tones,” singing with “bright assurance,” and being “a fine soprano with a vivacious presence.” She has performed with regional companies in Oklahoma such as Cimmarron Circuit Opera Company and Light Opera Oklahoma and in Ohio with the Fairmount Center of the Arts, Apollo’s Fire, and Garfield Heights Theater. Her roles include Serpetta (La Finta Giardiniera), Atalanta (Xerxes), Gianetta (The Gondoliers), Der Tanzmeister (Ariadne auf Naxos), Mrs. Nordstrom (A Little Night Music), The Dew Fairy (Hansel and Gretel), Knabe 1 (Die Zauberflöte), Pauline (The Toy Shop), Me (The Owl, the Tree, and Me), and Cupidon (Orphée aux Enfers). She recently made an appearance at Severance Hall with famed composer-conductor Marvin Hamlisch.
Claire currently resides in Cleveland, OH where she completed her Masters of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2010.
